Program Manager
(80 hours bi- weekly)

First Nation Healing Centre is a non-profit organization which has recently expanded their services into second stage housing. We are currently seeking a Program Manager for Second Stage Housing Program at our Winnipeg Location. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple projects within our organization. The manager of this program will engage in annual tenant agreements and case management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives to a successful completion.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Executive Director of the First Nation Healing Centre Inc. and work closely to ensure alignment with the First Nation Healing Centre goals and objectives.
  • Program Management: oversee the implementation and administration of the second stage housing work-plan.
  • Work closely with FNHC Human Resources for staff supervision, drive the recruitment and training process of program staff, creating a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Resident support: ensure residents receives support services, including case management, counselling, life skills and outreach.
  • Partnerships and development: build and maintain relationships with community partners, service providers and stakeholders to enhance program.
  • Monitoring, implanting and evaluating program effectiveness and identify areas of improvement.
  • Drafting tenant agreements and tenant guidelines
  • Enforce policy and lease agreements.
  • Ensure the building and program has safety measures in place at all times.
  • Administration, preparing and submitting reports on programs activities, outcomes, and financial status to the Executive Director, senior management and Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Must have counselling designation. Will consider years of counselling practice/experience.
  • Previous experience working in the area of Family Violence, victim services and advocacy, is an asset.
  • Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, organization and proposal writing.
  • Ability to work alone and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in working with a budget, financial literacy, management and financial reporting.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills and be prepared so that they can maintain a good, healthy mentorship with clients/residents and staff.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and domestic violence issues. Must be aware of the impact and effects of abuse on the lives of woman and children.
  • Must be action oriented, demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must submit a criminal record check, Adult and child abuse registry’s check, and a drug test (as per the FRCN By-law 20004-01, Sec.801).

The Healing Centre will provide a safe environment, residency and will address the women’s and children’s physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual needs.

Non-residential outreach with supportive counselling services will be provided to assist the males of our community.
